Tuba Tuesday

Luna lives

in a Victorian style townhouse

with red brick and wood trim


where maple trees canopy the avenue

on the other side of Luna’s

front and yellow door


clematis climb along the brick

picking at the peeling trim

or looking through her mail


at letters hand delivered

by a mailman who whistles

and notices the hydrangea

swollen and pink


while Luna plays the tuba

one hour every Tuesday

set to a shared internal clock


which is why he whistles

and notices everything

worth noticing where

Luna lives
